The Beginning....

Once upon a time, in midtown Manhattan, I owned a luxury pet product company... business was relatively good until I decided I could no longer manage on my own if I wanted the business to grow. So, I put the idea into my head that I would find a partner, an investor, or a larger company to merge with. A few DAYS later, I mentioned this to a woman in my building, and voila, a meeting with a well known and might I say MUCH LARGER pet company ensued.... ( Talk about the power of intention, but I digress)

Hallelujah! I was now able to concentrate on design, which was what I loved most, and let others take care of the important business details... whew!

Well, now, months later, I'm not happy. Things aren't always what they seem...and the grass was DEFINITELY greener on the other side..Ok, so, what did I do when the tough got tougher? WENT TO YOGA! I was at the yoga studio so often, I should have just brought my toothbrush and a sleeping bag , cause I had already started to bring my dog to class! I felt so at peace there and so was everyone around me, especially the teachers... They all talked about how fulfilled their lives were and it came from a place of genuine happiness, so one day, when my best friend suggested I become a certified yoga instructor, I was overjoyed!

At this point, I didn't have a job, a company, boyfriend, children, own an apartment or any other obligations (Oh my, sounds bleak , doesn't it?) so WHY NOT!? I know I skipped all of the great details but I can't talk or write about that here... I would immerse myself in the ancient tradition of Yoga and do what I loved. I made a few calls and within minutes, my friend Sandra and I were being transformed from Yoga students to Yoga teachers.

It was a 6 month program every other weekend in Woodstock, New York..perfect! Every other weekend meant I could have a social life and time for other things, right? WRONG! OMG! I'M IN YOGA SCHOOL AND FREAKING OUT THAT I DON'T HAVE ANY TIME TO GET MY HOMEWORK DONE! What on earth was wrong with me?! I had all the time in the world and was EXACTLY where I wanted to be.

Even though I was now on a direct path, I still felt I needed something more, something to set me apart and bring something unique to my students to be. I then signed up to be a Yamuna Body Rolling practitioner which was exactly what I was looking for. A modality that creates PERMANENT changes in the body by stimulating bone and all the principals are Hatha Yoga based... now I was on to something... Hmmmm, I truly believe that everything happens for a reason and I wouldn't trade my experiences for anything. I have met some of the most amazing people on this journey and all of them have brought wisdom, strength and vitality which has nourished me with spiritual food.

I hope I have inspired some of you out there to get on the ball and come roll with me!
